What our Volunteers say....
Caroline’s Story….
"I volunteer in the Early Years team at Oakwood Children & Family Centre. I support the children in a small nurture group twice a week. The children are very sweet. I enjoy supporting them in their learning, development and celebrating their achievements. The staff have been welcoming, friendly and kind. I look forward to volunteering each week. It has been hugely rewarding and enriching experience. I have found a happy place where I am valued, encouraged and included. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference within my community and to gain new knowledge and skills".
Krystina’s Story…
"Volunteering, for me, is about giving back to your community and helping others. It’s a way to connect, share, and support those who may be going through difficult times. It’s also incredibly beneficial for mental health – being able to talk with others and feel a sense of connection. While my ability to work is limited, volunteering gives me strong sense of purpose and allows me to contribute in a meaningful way. I hope that through what I do, I can offer others the comfort and security".
